Callaway Ladies Birdie & Eagle Print Long Sleeve Golf Top Review

Callaway Ladies Birdie & Eagle Print Long Sleeve Golf Top Review.

Every now and then you walk into a pro shop and just see that one golf top that stands out that you absolutely have to have. I was instantly drawn to the pretty parrot pattern and the vibrant colors of this long-sleeve top. It definitely reflects my personality, which I think is very true of women's golf clothing in general. We all know the women who wear the same pair of trousers and sweater every week. How very boring I say! I’m definitely a lover of fashion and seeing a fun and funky top like this has abundant appeal to me, even if it’s only a one season fad or fashion phase.

Let’s talk next about the fact that it’s long-sleeve yet designed to be worn throughout the summer. Yes, that’s right, a mid-layer that’s actually lightweight enough to allow you to completely cover up and protect your skin against the sun’s harmful rays but with the luxury of staying cool and comfortable. When I slipped this long-sleeve top on I fell in love with it even more. The sheer fabric is velvety soft against the skin. It’s almost translucent when you look at it closely and yet it offers privacy from your bra underneath. The qualities of the fabric are boundless, with in-built UVA sun protection in the material ensuring that no skin damage can be done. The long-sleeve top has been very popular on the Asian tours for many years, where you’ll see most of the women professionals covering up. It’s nice to see that the same thought has gone into designing for the mass market now and with skin cancer more prevalent than ever, it’s good to see Callaway’s design team taking this seriously.

As for the shaping, I’d describe the top as fitted yet flattering. Because the material is so lightweight it almost floats on top of your trousers, shorts or skort. There is plenty of room for bigger arms and the subtle stretch just allows the arms to taper in close to your hands so that you don’t find yourself having to pull the material up and out of the way to grip the club or address a putt.

The round neck mock-style collar will give that added protection from the sun catching the back of your neck and also looks very stylish. With a long-zip front you can also choose to keep it zipped up or open for a little added ventilation. One of the absolute wins of a moisture-wicking fabric like this is it is quick dry. It virtually comes out of the washing machine after a spin cycle dry and doesn’t crease, so there’s no need for ironing, you can simply put it straight on. The anti-odor qualifies of the fabric also ensure that you will smell just as fresh after a round of golf in the clubhouse bar as before.

In this day and age, environmental responsibility and sustainability is at the forefront of a lot of people’s minds, so it’s good to know this polo is crafted from recycled materials. The Callaway Golf long-sleeve polo shirt is a beautiful product and I’ll be wearing it as much as possible over the summer months.
