Callaway Golf stock fell 2% on Tuesday after a controversial ad featuring a male golfer shoving a female golfer to the ground when she tried to use his Callaway driver sparked widespread backlash online, prompting the company and its advertising partner to issue public apologies.

The advertisement was created by golf content company Good Good Golf as part of a campaign promoting a co-branded Callaway driver. The video showed Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark shoving golfer Alexis Miestowski to the ground after she attempted to use his golf club. Clark then warned her not to touch his new driver.
