‘Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ Officially Revealed With New Teaser And Logo

Modern Warfare 2 has been officially revealed Credit: Infinity Ward

It’s no great surprise that this year’s Call Of Duty is Modern Warfare 2. After the massive success of 2019’s sort-of-reboot of Modern Warfare, a sequel was all but guaranteed. Leaks and rumors have pointed at Modern Warfare 2 (and Warzone 2) coming out this Fall. Literally zero people are shocked in any way by this reveal.

But it’s still cool to have it officially unveiled as this year’s Call Of Duty. The teaser below shows none of the game itself and is really just a fancy way to reveal the logo (pictured above). It’s a really great logo, actually. I’m impressed. It’s just MW but they’ve made the Roman numeral II out of the two letters in green. It’s simple and elegant and very eye-catching. Bravo graphic design team!

Here’s the teaser:

Nothing else has been officially unveiled yet. Leakers have given us a few juicy tidbits, however. The campaign follows the members of Task Force 141 as they attempt to take down an international crime syndicate based in Juarez. The new Warzone 2 map is also apparently set in Latin America.

According to reports, the new campaign will include a lot of new stuff for the franchise including game mechanics like gun jamming.

The new co-op mode is apparently a DMZ Mode similar to the popular shooter Escape from Tarkov. Multiplayer is getting some cool new modes as well, including an Extraction mode and a Floor is Lava mode.

We still don’t know if this will be cross-gen or next-gen only, though Activision has hinted at next-gen with tweets that say “A new generation of Call Of Duty is coming soon” though today’s tweet mentions a “new era” rather than generation, which may or may not be purposeful.

Hopefully a full reveal will land soon along with an actual trailer. Stay tuned.
