"Call of Duty: Black Ops 7" was recently released publicly, but there are already new rumors about the next game slated for 2027, which is set to revamp the franchise and take it to new heights.
The new "Call of Duty" game is rumored to be a new sub-series in the franchise, and based on the reports, it will not continue what previous games have already introduced.
'Call of Duty' Leak Unveils Plans for 2027 Game
According to a trusted insider, TheGhostOfHope, there are already plans for the 2027 game under the "Call of Duty" franchise that will be developed by Sledgehammer Games that will bring an entirely new experience to all.
The latest leak claims that this would be unlike any other "Call of Duty" game before it as it is set to deliver new characters, settings, and storylines. The leaker also claims that this upcoming title would be set in the late 1990s or early 2000s.
It was also revealed that there would be no "tactical sprint" feature in this game as this faced mixed reactions from the fanbase since many want the traditional movement. Tactical sprint is known for giving users a quick burst of speed by double-tapping the sprint button while holding the gun higher, and it helps when users are in a dire situation they need to escape from.
That said, this 2027 "Call of Duty" mainline game will still reportedly feature the omnimovement system that Treyarch Studios delivered for more recent entries in the franchise, particularly since the release of 2024's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6."

2027 'COD' Game to Focus on a New Direction
According to TheGhostOfHope, Sledgehammer Games may opt to skip adding the Zombies mode in this 2027 "Call of Duty" game, but there are no specific reasons why they are removing this.
Treyarch Studios is credited for creating the Zombies mode experience in "COD" games, and in the past years, the mode has appeared in five out of six mainline titles.
While Treyarch Studios supports other game studios if they plan to add Zombies in their "Call of Duty" developments, Sledgehammer Games reportedly has no plans of using this again. The leaker speculated that it is also Activision Blizzard's choice to skip the availability of Zombies in their 2027 mainline game so as not to "burn out" Treyarch.
That said, Sledgehammer Games has plans to bring other experiences to this 2027 "Call of Duty" title, and this includes the return of Pick 10, a system that allows players to choose up to 10 items for their loadout, maximizing their weapons, perks, attachments, and more.
On the other hand, the leaker also claimed that the "Get High" mode is also set to make a return, a special game setup that was first introduced in 2024's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III."
