There was a quiet murmur all of last week leading into Saturday that Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders could sneak into the Heisman lead with an upset win over the current Heisman favorite Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans. While Sanders did play extremely well in a closer-than-expected loss, it was Williams who clearly separated himself from all of college football as the clear front-runner in the Heisman race.
Williams was incredible once again, completing 30 of 40 passes for 400 yards as well as scoring an incredible six touchdowns through the air. It did not exactly look difficult for Williams against the Buffaloes defense as he seemed to effortlessly play at an extremely high level. With his uncanny playmaking ability, elite level arm, and on-point accuracy, Williams is able to diagnose and efficiently take apart opposing defenses at the college level without much issue.

Given that Williams now has 24 touchdowns in just five games he is on pace for a historically good season. If he can keep up this level of play, he will rival the likes of Cam Newton and Joe Burrow for their single-season performances, and he will undoubtedly be the favorite to hoist the Heisman trophy at the end of the year.
