Caitlin Clark was aware she was 1 rebound away from another triple-double because, of course, she was

Of course, Caitlin Clark knew she was closing in on her second career triple-double. Her teammates and the home crowd knew it as well.

We would be kidding ourselves to think that someone — let alone Caitlin Clark — wouldn’t be aware of something like a triple-double. It’s hard to ignore stats like that, especially when they’re of historic proportions. On Wednesday, while Caitlin was busy tossing up monumental 3-point shots and dishing out behind-the-back passes, she also recorded another triple-double. Her fantastic stat line broke a rookie record previously set by *checks notes* herself earlier this season.

Caitlin’s impressive feat came on a last-second rebound, and when asked if she knew she was so close, Caitlin smiled and responded, “Of course, I knew. But, honestly, we were just trying to get stops…We found a way to get it done. But somebody had to get the rebound. [Aliyah Boston] was joking — we always joke about stealing each other’s rebounds. So, that was funny.”

There is someone who didn’t know Caitlin was close to history — Kelsey Mitchell. As the Fever fans were going wild, Kelsey was seemingly (and hilariously) confused about the whole ordeal.
