Caitlin Clark not participating in the 2024 WNBA 3-point contest absolutely shocked fans

After an absolutely historic game against the Dallas Wings, Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark had the basketball bounce in the other direction when it comes to this year’s WNBA 3-point contest.

After not giving an indication either way on Wednesday and playing coy about it in the past, Clark did not have her name listed among the five competitors in Friday’s 3-point contest during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game weekend festivities when the roster was revealed on Wednesday night.

Whether that’s a league decision or one that Clark had a part in making, this is just not what WNBA fans were hoping to find out with this year’s 3-point contest.

If the league left Clark off on its own accord, that’s truly bonkers. If Clark didn’t want to participate, that’s another thing altogether and understandable if she needs a breather before Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game.

We should note that New York Liberty superstar guard Sabrina Ionescu and Las Vegas Aces superstar guard Kelsey Plum weren’t listed as competitors, either, so it does make us think that Clark might’ve opted out from competing, as we’re guessing Ionescu and Plum did.

However, the disappointment was palpable from WNBA fans who wanted to see Clark compete in the contest this week.
