Cadbury has issued an urgent product warning and pulled Milk Tray boxes from supermarket shelves.
The chocolate maker has withdrawn the product just days before Christmas, Birmingham Live reports. Two sizes have been pulled from the shelves and taken off sale amid problems with packaging.
Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, is recalling boxes bought at the start of November (before November 2) in two sizes: both 180g and 360g. A Mondelez spokesperson said: "We are in the process of changing the packaging and producing new stock for our retailers.

“We apologise to our retailers and consumers for any inconvenience and disappointment caused." The small 78g and larger 530g boxes were not affected, Cadbury added.
Cadbury Milk Tray was launched in 1915, and became one of its most iconic products thanks to the Milk Tray Man, one of the most famous advertising characters in British TV history. The selection boxes are now a staple in many households around the festive season.
The boxes contain a range of treats, including the Caramel Softy, the Hazelnut Swirl and the Surprise Parcel, as well as the Strawberry Temptation and the Orange Truffle. It also includes the Salted Caramel Charm and the Truffle Heart, as well as the Apple Crunch and Fudge Duet and Perfect Praline.

A Mondelez spokesperson said: "We have taken the decision to withdraw Milk Tray 180g & 360g products from retailers in the UK with immediate effect. This is due to a food quality issue, whereby we have identified that the cardboard packaging is in some instances not performing as it should.
“While there is no food safety concern, we believe that withdrawing the product is the right thing. We are committed to producing and selling only the best quality products, and regretfully on this occasion we have not met our own high standards." They added: "Please rest assured that other Milk Tray formats (specifically 78g and 530g products) are not affected by this packaging issue, nor any other Mondelez products.”
