The New York Jets haven’t made the playoffs since 2010, the longest postseason drought in the NFL – and it’s not particularly close. The team with the second-longest drought, the Denver Broncos, have gone six years without a postseason appearance, five fewer years than the Jets.
But linebacker C.J. Mosley has his sights set on ending that 11-year dry spell. He thinks making the playoffs is a legitimate goal for the Jets in 2022.
“I’m really expecting playoffs or bust,” Mosley told Mark Inabinett of AL.com. “Obviously, that’s my goal every year, but I think it’s something that’s a realistic goal for our entire team and our coaches.”
The closest the Jets came to the postseason was in 2015 when they finished 10-6 – their only season with a winning record since going 11-5 in 2010. However, in the last six years, they haven’t won more than seven games in a single season and won just six total in the last two years combined.
The Bills figure to win the AFC East, so the Jets will most likely need to make the postseason as a wild card team. That won’t be easy either, especially with how many teams in the AFC improved this offseason.
