Before BYU and Oregon take the field in Eugene on Saturday afternoon, the two had some early season tests to take.
The Cougars passed, with a Week 2 thrilling win over Baylor. The Ducks, however, failed miserably with a 49-3 loss to Georgia in Week 1 of the college football season. Still, Oregon heads into Saturday’s contest with BYU as 3.5-point favorites at home (at Tipico Sportsbook).
For Kalani Sitake’s BYU football team to take down a second-straight ranked opponent, it’ll have to execute for 60 minutes, which is something that could be even more difficult to do without some of its best players.
According to BYU Sports Nation, BYU will be down two defensive linemen and two receivers today; Tyler Batty, Earl Tuioti-Mariner, Puka Nacua and Gunner Romney will not play. Cougars go into Autzen against No. 25 Ducks fairly shorthanded today.

Deseret News‘ Jay Drew had been dropping hints all day that the Cougars could be without some bodies, and no it appears the hints are facts.
The two receivers missing Saturday’s game, Puka Nacua and Gunner Romney, were the Cougars’ top two receivers last season. But before you fade BYU, know that neither receiver took the field a week ago in the double-overtime win over Baylor last week.
This game could still go either way.
