Akhilesh Yadav and Elon Musk

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has forwarded his sharp reaction on the billionare tech magnate Elon Musk comments on the electronic voting machines (EVMs), reports Dynamite New correspondent.

Elon Musk, in a post on X, had raised concerns about EVMs, suggesting they should be eliminated due to the potential risk of being hacked by humans or AI, even if the risk is minimal.

The SP Supremo asserted that the technology is meant to solve problems, if it becomes the reason for problems, then its use should be stopped.

He said, today when there are apprehensions of EVM tampering in many elections of the world and world-renowned technology experts are openly writing about the danger of EVM tampering, then the BJP should clarify the reason behind the insistence on using EVM.

Akhilesh Yadav said we reiterate our demand to conduct all the upcoming elections through ballot papers.

In fact, Elon Musk wrote on X in response to a statement by Robert F Kennedy Jrafter after his Puerto Rico primary election:

'Puerto Rico’s primary elections just experienced hundreds of voting irregularities related to electronic voting machines, according to the Associated Press.

'Luckily, there was a paper trail so the problem was identified and vote tallies corrected.

'What happens in jurisdictions where there is no paper trail?

'US citizens need to know that every one of their votes were counted, and that their elections cannot be hacked. We need to return to paper ballots to avoid electronic interference with elections.

'My administration will require paper ballots and we will guarantee honest and fair elections.

'Technology is meant to solve problems, if it becomes the reason for problems, then its use should be stopped.'
