Buyer baffled after Depop parcel posted in completely open Tesco carrier bag

Buying clothes online is always a risk - particularly when the seller is a single person rather than a big retailer.

Nonetheless, second-hand and independent sites like Depop have become hugely popular over recent years.

For the most part, buying second-hand means saving lots of money - while also making you feel a bit better about your carbon footprint, by refraining from buying new items.

But sometimes using sites like Depop can throw up surprises in what you receive - and how you receive them.

One buyer who recently bought an item of clothing on Depop was baffled at how their parcel arrived and left the seller a two-star review to express their dismay.

In the review, which was posted on the Depop Drama Instagram page, the buyer explained their parcel had arrived in the post via Royal Mail - but the item of clothing had been put in an unsealed Tesco carrier bag that had been turned inside out.

When the postman handed over the bag, the buyer described him as appearing "baffled" at what he was delivering.

The confused buyer wrote: "Item arrived quickly as described but seller's method of postage was bizarre - sent in an inside-out Tesco carrier bag, unsealed with the address written on the outside.

"No idea how it was accepted at the post office, let alone arrived! Postman was baffled.

"Tried to message to query but no response. Would be hesitant to order again."

Other photos showed the buyer holding up the carrier bag as it had arrived - completely unsealed with the item of clothing stuffed inside.

In an exchange that left viewers in hysterics, the buyer messaged the seller asking: "Don't get why you sent it in an unsealed carrier bag? Bit risky, surely."

The seller simply responds: "Well it arrived didn't it?"

In the comments section, people expressed their amusement at the seller's mode of sending the parcel - as well as their attitude about it.

Many people made the point that it appeared the seller rather than the buyer had submitted the complaint to the page.

One person joked the seller's mantra must be: "My packaging is recycled."

Another said: "Pretty impressed it arrived."
