Mohamed Salah has sent an emotional thank you message to Liverpool fans.
The Reds forward finished the season with 31 goals in all competitions, and played a key role in helping bring two major trophies to Anfield. As well as helping win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, Salah also scooped the Premier League Golden Boot, along with a host of personal awards including the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year award.
Salah’s final appearance of the season came in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid. The Egyptian had several efforts saved by Thibaut Courtois as Liverpool lost 1-0 at the Stade de France in Paris.

Posting on Twitter, Salah has written a message of thanks to Liverpool fans following the conclusion of the season. The 29-year-old went on to speak about the final to Madrid in Paris.
“I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool but in the end we couldn’t,” wrote Salah on Twitter.
“I cannot thank the fans enough for your support. It has been a very long season but a part of me wishes the next one starts again tomorrow.”
Reflecting on his personal achievements, Salah added: “Being recognised by the fans and by the sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget.
“I would however give all those personal awards up for a chance at replaying that final, but that is not how football works.”
