Busy road on Scottish island closed in both directions following crash

A ROAD on the Isle of Skye has been closed in both directions following a crash, as drivers have been urged to avoid the area.

Police were called to the A87 north of Broadford at around 10.20am on Saturday following a report of a crash.

The A87 has been closed in both directions, with motorists urged to find alternative routes.

It is unknown if there have been any injuries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The A87 is closed in both directions north of Broadford on the Isle of Skye following a crash reported to us around 10.20am this morning, Saturday, June 27.

“Emergency services remain in attendance and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”

Traffic Scotland also confirmed the road closure and added that motorists on Skye should expect delays.
