The threat has eased from a bushfire that had been burning toward homes in the south-eastern fringe of Perth, with an emergency warning lifted.
The bushfire in Whitby and Mundijong in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale started near the intersection of South Western Highway and Reilly Road and was reported to authorities just before 5am.
An emergency warning was declared an hour later, but it has now been downgraded to an advice level.
The advice is in place for people in an area bounded by South Western Highway, Watkins Road, Mundijong Road, Adams Street, Keirnan Street, Soldiers Road and Norman Road in parts of Whitby and Mundijong.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said there was no longer any threat to lives and homes.
It said the fire was contained but had not yet been controlled.
The bushfire is stationary after having earlier been moving in a westerly direction.
Firefighters remain on the scene, strengthening containment lines and burning unburnt pockets.
Kiernan Road from South Western Highway to Tinspar Avenue has been reopened after it was closed earlier, but motorists have been advised to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.
