Bus services are diverting in Worksop after a large sinkhole appeared in the town. The traffic monitoring site Inrix says the sinkhole has opened up on Carlton Road between Overend Road and Eastgate.
The site first reported the incident just after 9am on Saturday (May 6), saying that a closure was in place across the affected stretch in both directions. Stagecoach East Midlands confirmed that several bus services would be diverting as a result.
The company said bus routes 21, 22, 25, 42 and 42 will be diverting up Gateford Road and Turner Road "until further notice." Google traffic data shows heavy congestion along both Gateford Road and Carlton Road, as well as further down on Watson Road, due to the sinkhole.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix is reporting sensors indicate the Northbound stretch has been reopened.
