A bus burst into flames in Glasgow city centre on Saturday afternoon, prompting an emergency response that closed off a busy street.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the inferno on Renfield Street shortly after 12:15pm on April 23, reports Glasgow Live.
Locals shared dramatic images of the blaze on social media.
Video shared with the Record by Twitter user @Martyboiiiii showed flames consuming the front of the vehicle before firefighters arrived on the scene.
The incident remains ongoing and motorists are being urged to find an alternative route.
Two fire appliances are on the scene, with police also in attendance.
Others also shared footage showing flames spitting from the front window and doorway of the double decker.
Later images suggested that firefighters had successfully extinguished the blaze.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed officers were in attendance to assist with traffic management.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.15pm on Saturday, April 23 to reports of a fire affecting a bus on Renfield Street.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and they remain in attendance."
The Record understands that all passengers and the driver were evacuated from the vehicle.
However, a 54-year-old man has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Representatives from First Bus are at the scene assessing the vehicle in a bid to identify how the fire broke out.
A spokesperson for the operator said: "We are aware of an incident on Renfield Street, Glasgow where a fire has been reported.
"The emergency services are in attendance and we will be supporting them with their enquiries.
"The safety and well-being of our passengers, drivers and the public are our number one priority and we will be conducting a full investigation into how the incident happened."
The blaze comes just hours after a disused library caught fire in the east end of Glasgow.
A dozen fire crews descended on the former Queen Mary Street Nursery in Bridgeton at around 11.45pm on Friday April 22 following reports that the building was ablaze.
Firefighters remained there into Saturday morning, while police chiefs have confirmed they are investigating the origins of the fire.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers attended reports of a fire at Queen Mary Street in Bridgeton at a derelict building around 11.50pm on Friday, April 22.
"No-one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire."
