A childcare worker who lied about burning her Pot Noodle has been sanctioned by care bosses.
A Perth nursery was evacuated after Holly Wilkie melted her lunch in a microwave.
Babies and small children were woken from their lunchtime naps and bundled outside as fire-crews responded to alarms.
When questioned by bosses after last October’s drama at the Wendy House Nursery, Ms Wilkie tried to cover her tracks.
The SSSC - Scottish Social Services Council - launched an investigation and found that Ms Wilkie hid the torched Pot Noodle in her handbag and denied causing the fire alarms to go off.
When questioned by staff, she claimed to have burnt the meal at home before finally owning up.
The SSSC posted its 'notice of decision' on its website earlier this week.
They said she “acted dishonestly” showed a “lack of remorse” and failed to “accept responsibiliy”.
Addressing Ms Wilkie directly it said: “Although your behaviour is not at the highest end of the scale in terms of seriousness, you have shown no insight or remorse.
“You have failed to accept responsibility for your actions and have given varying accounts of what happened.
“This in our view, increases the risk of repetition of dishonesty.
“If your behaviour was to be repeated, there would be a risk to the public protection and to the public interest."
And it added: “Your conduct falls short of the standards expected from a social services worker.”
A warning was placed on Ms Wilkie’s registration for a period of 12-months.
A spokesperson for the Wendy House Nursery told Dundee Live: "We are aware of the outcome of the Scottish Social Services Council decision.
"We can confirm that Holly Wilkie is no longer employed at The Wendy House Nursery.
"The health, safety and wellbeing of all children and staff is paramount at The Wendy House Nursery."
