Spurs are back in action this afternoon and, once again, simply need to win. A miserable home defeat to West Ham last weekend looked set to spell the end of manager Thomas Frank, but the board held their nerve and were rewarded with a commanding win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Another defeat today, though, would be a disaster.
While it was a great win in midweek, it came at a price as Lucas Bergvall has been ruled out for a number of months with an ankle injury, adding yet another name to Spurs’ injury crisis. It could see an opportunity for Yves Bissouma to earn his first start of the season, while new signing Conor Gallagher will get the nod in the middle.
Burnley have not won in 13 Premier League games, but Bournemouth ended a 10-game winless streak against Spurs and last week West Ham’s triumph was their first in 12. ‘Dr Tottenham’ is alive and well, but will he saw the right medicine for former Spurs player Scott Parker? Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor.

Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
16:30 , Alex YoungSpurs have been really poor in possession. They keep giving the ball away under little to no pressure and as a result are struggling to build any tempo. It's not been a great watch in the second half.
Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
16:30 , Alex Young69min: Broja and Florentino are replaced by Laurent and Foster.
Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
16:28 , Alex Young67min: Fantastic from Spence, driving forward and bending one towards the far post which Dubravka saves.

16:26 , Alex Young65min: Spurs gift Burnley a throw in as Danso passes straight out of play.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
16:23 , Alex YoungBrave goalkeeping from Vicario to deny Broja. The offside flag went up, but it was tight.
Spurs look open when they lose the ball. It only seems to take a couple of passes before Burnley are in behind.
Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
16:23 , Alex Young61min: Burnley go straight up the other end and suddently Broja is clean through. A cominbation of Vicario and Van de Ven mop up, but the striker should have done better.
The offside flag is then raised, but it looked tight.
Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
16:22 , Alex Young60min: Spence does brilliantly to twist and turn into the box before going down, but nothing doing.

Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:59 , Alex YoungThomas Frank's decision to match up Burnley has shown encouraging signs, but too often Spurs' execution has let them down.
It has been too passive at times from the visitors and they have been pegged back. The away fans are growing frustrated.
Two late goals sees us level at the break.
Spurs were on top for most of the half, but slack defending on the stroke of half-time has let them down.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:52 , Alex YoungBurnley are level on the stroke of half-time. Spurs back where they started.

Half-time
15:50 , Alex Young48min: And that your lot.
Spurs will be kicking themselves that they’re not ahead.
Burnley 1-1 Tottenham
15:49 , Alex Young46min: Two minutes added on.
GOALLLLLLLLL!
15:48 , Alex Young45min: Spurs cannot hold on!
A stunning cross from Walker out wide on the right, and no one tracks Tuanzebe to ghost in and slot home from close range!
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:46 , Alex YoungSpurs' pressure counts as Van de Ven gives the visitors the lead
Spurs had the Burnley backline on the ropes and it is a striker's finish from Van de Ven.
"We are staying up" chant the away fans in jest.

Burnley 0-1 Tottenham
15:43 , Alex Young41min: Odobert seems desperate to score against his former club, but Dubravka is again in the way as he tries a snapshot from inside the area.
Burnley 0-1 Tottenham
15:43 , Alex Young40min: A deserved lead for Spurs, who must now manage the game as half-time approaches.
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
15:41 , Alex Young38min: The corner comes in, it’s half-cleared, Walker jumps up again but the ball drops to Van de Ven to drill home into the bottom corner!
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:40 , Alex Young37min: Huge double save!
Fantastic strike from Odobert again, and then Gallagher is denied at close range!
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:39 , Alex Young36min: Almost a stunner from Odobert!
He made the chance all himself, driving in from the right, before trying to curl one beyond Dubravka who makes a great save.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:37 , Alex Young35min: Pinball in the penalty area as Spurs try and try and try again to find a way through, but it is all very haphazard, until Porro drills over.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:36 , Alex Young‘Sideways and backwards everywhere we go’ chant the away fans. After a bright start, Spurs' supporters are beginning to vent their frustration.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:30 , Alex Young28min: Porro again, with a bit more power, but Dubravka is able to palm this one away.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:29 , Alex Young27min: Simons again wiped out from behind. This time around 25 yards from goal.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:27 , Alex Young25min: A great move, started by Danso, sends Spurs driving up field. Eventually Spence plays in Simons, but the pass is a tad weak and the chance breaks down.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:26 , Alex YoungSpurs have not been able to do much with the ball in the last 10 minutes. Spurs still adapting to this system despite some promising signs.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:25 , Alex Young23min: So close! Porro goes for the near top corner, but his shot ripples the outside of the side netting.
Porro thought that was in, and so did I.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:23 , Alex Young22min: Simons wins a free kick right on the edge of the area. A clumsy tackle from Edwards.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:23 , Alex Young21min: Spurs will all the possession, but have not created anything of real note yet.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:19 , Alex Young17min: A long VAR check on what was a clear offside for Burnley. There is contact from Romero on Edwards in the penalty area, but the player was offside.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:16 , Alex Young14min: A speculative low cross from Porro at the back post which trickles right through so no Spurs player in sight.
Solanke wanted the ball near the penalty spot.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:13 , Alex YoungThat was miles offside, but a warning sign from Burnley. Spurs have started well, but they are yet to really create anything.
NO GOAL!
15:13 , Alex Young10min: Burnley have the ball in the back of the net but Pires is clearly offside.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:08 , Alex Young6min: Really good from Bissouma to mop up at the back, turn his man and then send Spence scampering towards the area before being crowded out.
Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
15:06 , Alex YoungSpence heavily involved early on, as he was against Dortmund. He really suits this new hybrid role he has been given.
Spurs have real presence in behind with him high up the pitch.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:05 , Alex Young3min: Another half-chance for Spence, who is being found time and again by his team-mates on the left-hand side. He cuts in and drills a low shot at Dubravka.
Burnley 0-0 Tottenham
15:03 , Alex Young1min: Wow, almost a goal inside 15 seconds as Spence ghosts in at the back post and cuts the ball back, but Solanke cannot get ahead of his marker.
Kick-off!
15:02 , Alex Young1min: Up and running!
Scott Parker is out last, and Thomas Frank meets him on the touchline.
Here come the players.
Not long to go now. After West Ham’s win, anything less than three points for Spurs is almost unthinkable.
Final prep.

Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor
14:38 , Alex YoungWest Ham's victory over Sunderland in the early kick-off has really put the onus on Burnley to get a result here this afternoon.
The Clarets are now six points behind West Ham in the relegation race. Tottenham are now just seven points clear.

Frank on Bissouma's first start of the season
14:20 , Alex Young"Biss has been good since coming back from AFCON, and he did well in the second half against West Ham. His type is what we need today.
"We all know that Biss at his highest level is a quality player.
"We need to go out there and have a top mentality and focus. There is no easy game, we know what's ahead of us."
Odobert starts again against his former club. He nabbed two assists in midweek against Burnley - more of the same today?

We are expecting Gallagher to return to the line-up today, with Solanke and Udogie keeping their place from midweek.
Confirmed line-ups in a little over five minutes.
Line-ups to be confirmed at 1.45pm.
Frank has a Tel problem
13:22 , Alex YoungMathys Tel is expected to start for Spurs today, but things are not all rosey with the forward.
Thomas Frank this week decided to drop the striker from Tottenham’s Champions League squad. Tel had originally replaced an injured Dominic Solanke, and UEFA regulations dictate that the Frenchman had to be the fall guy should his strike partner be reinstated. Which he was.
The French forward has recently found favour under Frank, starting each of Spurs’ last four games in all competitions before being left out against Dortmund, and was left frustrated by the decision.
The 20-year-old, who has been linked with a January loan move to Ligue 1 side Paris FC, is keen to force his way into France’s World Cup squad this summer, but his manager has ruled out an exit this month.

Frank keeps key mantra in mind as Spurs aim to avoid a reality check
13:13 , Alex YoungThomas Frank’s mantra has always been to never to get too high or too low off the back of one result, writes Sam Tabuteau.
This core leadership principle, carried over from his time at Brentford, explains why he has not allowed himself to get whipped up in the frenzied chatter about his future.
But it also explains why, in the Dane’s mind, Tuesday’s win over Borussia Dortmund was important, but not wholly unexpected.
Big picture thinking has always been Frank’s strength, and while the pressure remains on him to get results, he feels Spurs have been getting progressively better even as they search for their first league win in five.

Spurs have won their last five games in a row against Burnley, and eight of the last nine.
This fixture is a reverse of the opening weekend of the season, which Spurs won 3-0 in what now looks to have been a false dawn for manager Thomas Frank.

Score prediction
12:57 , Alex YoungA victory in Europe lifted some of the pressure off Frank’s shoulders, but the scrutiny is still on as focus turns back to the league.
He will have some players back for the trip to Turf Moor, but Burnley have made it tricky for the top sides in recent weeks, earning credible draws with Liverpool and United.
Will Spurs have enough to arrest their poor league form and spare their manager the sack?
Tottenham to win, 2-1.
Early Burnley team news
12:50 , Alex YoungAs for Burnley, Scott Parker has several problems himself.
Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer and Josh Cullen are all out long-term, hwile Connor Roberts is suffering with an Achilles issue.
Joe Worrall and Zian Flemming are the other doubts this weekend.
Early Tottenham team news
12:42 , Alex YoungConor Gallagher is set to come back into the Tottenham team, but his midfield partner remains unclear after Lucas Bergvall's injury.
Joao Palhinha is a doubt, having missed the last two games with a knock, so Archie Gray or Yves Bissouma are vying for a start.
Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie made their first starts since returning from injury against Dortmund and could be in line to play.
Pape Matar Sarr has returned to Hotspur Way after the Africa Cup of Nations.
Spurs are still without long-term absentees James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison.
Tottenham predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Gray, Gallagher; Odobert, Simons, Tel; Solanke

Burnley vs Tottenham LIVE
12:29 , Alex YoungGood afternoon and welcome to the London Standard’s LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between Burnley and Tottenham.
On paper, this should be a straightforward win for Spurs. Burnley are without a win in 13 league games, and morale is depleting week on week.
But this is Spurs we are talking about. After losing at home to West Ham - arguably the worst team in the league - they went and beat Borussia Dortmund, second in the Bundesliga.
Which Spurs will turn up today? Thomas Frank needs it to be latter.
We have Sam Tabuteau at Turf Moor. Kick-off is at 3pm, stick with us.
