Watford were relegated back to the Championship on Saturday, confirming officially that Leeds United, Burnley and Everton are in a three-way battle to escape the drop in 18th Place in the Premier League. Burnley suffered a potentially damaging defeat on Saturday, as they lost 3-1 to Aston Villa at home.
This means that whilst they are equal on points with Leeds, the Whites have an opportunity to pull away from them, should they manage to take points from Arsenal on Sunday.
Speaking after the game, Mike Jackson - Burnley's caretaker manager - felt that the Clarets were harshly done by in the scoreline. However, he was bullish about the team's chances to finish above Leeds and Everton and stay in the Premier League as he told Sky Sports: "We’re going into these last two weeks of the season, it’s three games and everything’s there for us, what we need to do. So stick together, I said to them there and I said to them before Watford, if I could pick a group to go through this with, it’d be them."

Speaking about how the game unfolded, Jackson explained that his team had just been lacking in the final-third. Danny Ings, Emilano Buendia and Ollie Watkins had been clinical for Villa in comparison.
"First half we gave away some sloppy goals and got punished for a couple of errors which you do at this level. We had some good moments ourselves in the first half, we had quite a bit of the ball, we were doing what we thought we would be able to do in the game but we couldn’t find those moments to finish them off.
"Obviously then you’re two goals down and then second half lose one early and it takes a little bit of wind out of you. First half we had as many moments as Villa but we didn’t take the chances that we had.
"There’s always that feeling when you lose a game. You can’t shake it off straight away. You have to go through the process. ‘Right ok, what did we do well? What can we do better? How do we improve for next week?"
