Burnley manager Vincent Kompany accepted that his side are obviously not at the same level as Manchester United following Wednesday night's 2-0 Carabao Cup fourth-round defeat at Old Trafford.
Goals either side of half-time from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford sealed a routine win for the Reds, securing their place in the quarter-finals of the competition for third time in the last four seasons. Eriksen opened the scoring with a close-range tap-in before Rashford netted a wonderful solo goal shortly before the hour mark to make sure of the victory.
Burnley did dominate possession for long spells, particularly in the first half, but struggled to test United shot-stopper Martin Dubravka. Their best chance fell to striker Ashley Barnes inside the last ten minutes when he spurned a great opportunity to claw a goal back from close quarters.

And it was the Clarets' failure to take their best chances when they came their way that, in the eyes of Kompany, made all the difference, as the Belgian recognised that his side, as a Championship club, are not going to be as clinical in front of goal as United are.
"We didn't roll over," Kompany told Sky Sports. "We knew on a couple of occasions, with the counters from Antony and Rashford, that there was enough players on that pitch to hurt you.
"But we didn't roll over; I thought we were aggressive and on the front foot. We created some really good chances and look, we're in the Championship so we're going to miss the odd chance. We have just got to look forward to our next game against Birmingham and that is the priority."
He added: "I think we're at a level where when the players come and sign with us we try to improve them. If there is a target, we hit them five times out of ten; at United you have to hit them nine times out of ten. We progressively try to make it six, seven, eight and then usually, at that point, they move on.
"We are fine and we have got three really big Championship games coming up that we care about."
