Burnley boss Mike Jackson has revealed the Clarets could be boosted by the return of striker Jay Rodriguez for their final game of the season against Newcastle United. Jackson's side took a point away from Villa Park on Thursday evening, securing a 1-1 against Aston Villa.
That point moved Burnley out of the bottom three at Leeds' expense, with Jesse Marsch's side now sitting in 18th on goal difference. Burnley are a whopping 20 goals better off than the Whites, meaning that Leeds need to better the Clarets result on Sunday to ensure safety.
During his pre-match press conference, Jackson issued a team news update ahead of the visit of Newcastle United to Turf Moor.

"Jay [Rodriguez] has been with the physios today, out on the grass again," said. "I think that's probably a 50/50. Tarky [James Tarkowski] came through the game okay, so today is a day of recovery and rest."
Right-back Matt Lowton was sent off for a straight red card in Burnley's draw with Villa following a reckless challenge on Calum Chambers, with Jackson confirming that the club will appeal the decision.
"We're thinking seriously about that and we think we have a strong case."
