Just days after launching an April Fool’s Day prank that sent people into a ‘frenzy’, Burger King is now giving fans just what they want.
On Saturday (April 1), Burger King teased the arrival of new Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries, which would have seen their popular chicken strips coated in crushed Doritos tortilla chips. Whilst later announced as a prank, it led many to wish the creation was true.
"This should be real", one fan proclaimed while another said: "I bet they would taste amazing". Thankfully, Burger King has announced the chicken fries are now a reality and they're here with a bang.

Launching today, the spicy new menu addition features 100% chicken breast coated in a layer of crushed Doritos and a dusting of the iconic Chilli Heatwave flavour.
To coincide with the launch - and perhaps to help fans come to terms with the fact that the prank is now real - people can get two of the sides for one with a buy-one-get-one-free deal via the Burger King app and Just Eat just for today only (April 3).
Available in a box of six for £5.49, the new chicken fries are now the second collaboration between the two brands following the launch of the Flame-Grilled Whopper Doritos last month.
Katie Evans, from Burger King UK, commented: “We’ve been teasing this epic product launch all week long and it’s clear our fans are no fools – they know a good thing when they see one.
