Fast food chain Burger King has rolled out its new 'Your Burger King' loyalty scheme with a fanfare this month, with promises of a free cheeseburger or fries just for signing up. But only five restaurants in the North East are taking part - and of those, two of the five only offer the deals when you click and collect.
Despite there being more than a dozen restaurants in the North East region, you can only collect and redeem points at the following branches:
- Newcastle Clayton St, NE1 5PW
- Durham Thinford Lane, DH6 5JY
- Gateshead Metro Centre, NE11 9YZ

In addition, you can use the scheme in the following two branches, as long as you use click and collect for your order:
- Gateshead Trinity Square, NE8 1BF
-
Newcastle Northumberland St, NE1 7DE
Burger King has over 500 locations across the UK, but you can only use the new loyalty scheme at 279 of them. You can check out the full list on Burger King's website to see which restaurants are participating in the loyalty scheme, launched in the same week that fast food rival McDonald's which also expanded its McDonald's Rewards scheme.
The Your Burger King loyalty scheme was launched after a successful trial in Scotland. You will need to make at least one purchase every six months if you want to collect points, as points expire at that point, so you will lose them all.
Your points can also only be spent on specific menu items. You can find out more about the Burger King reward scheme here.
