Burger King launches loyalty scheme offering free Whoppers and more

Burger King is launching a loyalty scheme to reward loyal fans - and is even giving away free burgers to celebrate.

And there will soon be even more Burger King branches to take advantage of the scheme, as the chain wants to open 200 more restaurants in the UK by 2026.

The 'Your Burger King' loyalty scheme will give burger fans 10 points for every £1 spent.

These points can then be spent to get free food at Burger King.

The loyalty scheme launches on July 26, 2022.

Anyone who signs up by this date will be given 200 points straight away - enough to get a cheeseburger or fries for free.

You have to download the Burger King app to use the loyalty scheme.

Any points you build up will expire after six months.

If you spend £15, you get 150 points and can get a free:

  • Regular fries
  • Cheeseburger
  • Hamburger
  • Regular drink

Spending £25 gets you 250 points, enough for:

  • Six onion rings
  • Six nuggets or vegan nuggets
  • Six chilli cheese bites
  • Double cheeseburger

If you spend £40, 400 points will get you:

  • Whopper or Plant-Based Whopper
  • Crispy Chicken
  • Bacon Double Cheeseburger
  • Chicken Royale or Vegan Royale

If you love Burger King enough to spend £60, you can get:

  • Double Whopper
  • Bacon Double XL
  • Steakhouse Angus

Racking up a £70 spend means you get 700 points, enough for:

  • Whopper Meal or Plant-Based Whopper Meal
  • Crispy Chicken Meal
  • Chicken Royale or Vegan Royale Meal
  • Cheesy Bacon Double Meal

Finally - and only for major burger buffs - £80 builds up 800 points and means you get:

  • Bacon Double XL Meal
  • Double Whopper Meal
  • Steakhouse Angus Meal

Burger King marketing officer Katie Evans said: "The platform offers customers a more personalised experience and access to rewards that they can’t get anywhere else. It’s a way for us - The Home of the Whopper - to say thank you to our loyal customers up and down the country.”

If you sign up to the scheme you can get points every time you visit a Burger King or buy from the restaurant using its app or website.

Not all Burger King restaurants are taking part in the loyalty scheme.

For example, any branches of the burger restaurant at motorway service locations, airports, train stations and holiday parks are exempt.

The Whopper has been Burger King's most popular item since it launched back in 1957, and the restaurant claims to sell 2.1billion every year.

The famous Whopper contains a patty, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, pickle, mayonnaise and ketchup, in a large soft bun.

However, vegetarians and vegans should know that the plant-based Whopper is normally cooked on the same grill as Burger King's meat burgers.

Burger fans can get a £1.99 Whopper all year round, every Wednesday, by going into any Burger King restaurant.

Brits' love for Burger King meant it sold £211.7million of food in 2021 - up 68% on the year before.
