Burger King has launched a new burger, the ‘real cheeseburger’, consisting of two burger buns and 20 slices of American cheese and no sauce or whopper patty.
The all cheese no meat burger is being sold in Thailand as of Wednesday and was announced via a post on the burger joint's social media pages which told customers: “We are not kidding. This is for real” alongside a picture of the cheesy sandwich.
While this might be some people’s idea of heaven, a lot of burger enthusiasts were rightly appalled by the new addition to the fast-food chain's menu.

Richard Barrows, who writes Thai travel guides made a post on Twitter where he reviewed the new burger, explaining that there is a trend in the country to put cheese on everything.
He added that while he loves cheese he struggled to eat half of the so-called burger, asking himself if he should grill the second half.
He posted: “A trend in Thailand is to put cheese on literally everything. Now Burger King has joined in with the Real Cheese Burger. Though I think they forgot the meat.
“I love cheese but I struggled eating even half of this ‘burger’. Maybe I should grill the other half? What do you think?”
Thankfully, for anyone worried about this burger heading over to Ireland after being tested out on the Thai market, you can rest assured as Burger King confirmed to the Irish Mirror the burger was a one-day promotion and won’t be travelling outside the Southeast Asian country.
A spokesperson for Burger King told the Irish Mirror: “This is a limited-time offer by Burger King Thailand and is available only in that market. The promotion will end tomorrow, July 13, and will not be featured in Ireland nor elsewhere.”
