Burger King giving away free burgers in Nottingham to celebrate its first meat-free restaurant

Burger King is giving away free vegan burgers today (Monday, March 14) to celebrate the launch of its first completely meat-free restaurant.

Customers can grab a Vegan Royale via the Burger King app from any of the fast food chain's shops including branches in Exchange Walk and Castle Boulevard, in Nottingham, and Lady Bay Retail Park.

The meat-free twist on the iconic chicken burger has been gaining rave fan reviews nationwide since its launch last April.

Consisting of a crispy coated, plant-based chicken, ingeniously derived by the Vegetarian Butcher, the Vegan Royale is topped with iceberg lettuce, creamy vegan mayo and crowned with a trademark golden bun, sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.

Strict cooking processes, which ensure it’s kept completely separate from meat, dairy and egg products, have also earned the burger Vegan Society certification.

The giveaway follows the launch of Burger King UK’s first ever completely meat-free restaurant in London.

The Leicester Square site is trialling a ground-breaking new plant-based and vegan menu for one month, from a ‘cheeeze & bakon’ burger to a ‘nugget’ burger.

The vegan, meat-free and plant-based menu additions come after Burger King UK recently announced its plans for lowering carbon emissions.

The restaurant chain has committed to reducing emissions including those from purchased goods and services, capital distribution and waste generated in operations and franchises by 41 per cent at each restaurant by 2030. The Vegan Royale, and wider meat-free menu are steps towards meeting these ambitions.
