Bunbury man charged for allegedly recording teenage girl from roof cavity of public toilet block

A South West man has been arrested after allegedly filming a teenage girl from the roof cavity of a public toilet block at a Bunbury beach.

The alleged incident happened at a toilet block on Ocean Drive on October 8.

A 58-year-old Bunbury man was arrested and charged with indecently recording a child between the age of 13 and 16.

Bunbury's Back Beach is a popular swimming spot and home to cafes and the local surf lifesaving club.

"The man and the child were not previously known to each other," a police spokeswoman stated.

The ABC understands the man used a mobile phone to film the girl.

The man was released on bail and will appear before the Bunbury Magistrates Court later this month.

The City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club have said they are aware of a police investigation involving a member, but the incident is not connected to the club and did not happen on club property.
