Residents in Bulwell have spoken out about an 'awful' house fire that happened yesterday (March 3).
Fire services were called out to a fire which broke out in the living room of a house on Downes Close, Bulwell.
Firefighters from Hucknall and Stockhill fire stations raced to the scene where two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to put the fire out.
Although it was confirmed that no one was injured, the incident still scared many people living in the area.
Residents on nearby Sankey Drive said they were just glad everyone was ok.
Danny Morrison, 49, who works IT, told Nottinghamshire Live: “I don’t know the people, I don’t know the situation but it sounds awful.”
Another resident, Ben Matthews, 37, a builder, says he wishes the occupants well.
Mr Matthews said: “I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
“There’s families around here.
“I wish them well.”
A resident on Sankey Drive who gave the name Marlema, 31 said:
“It’s not nice to hear - I’m so sorry for the people.”
A resident on Downes Close shared with Nottinghamshire Live what they saw.
The resident who wished not to be named said that he saw the incident unfold.
He said: “I saw the fire engines.
“They had hoses and got the hoses out.
“By the time I realised - they had it under control.
“They came round after to ask us about our fire alarm and left a leaflet.
“It makes you feel more secure.”
