A violent bully subjected his girlfriend to a brutal assault over a 12 hour period.
Robert Saxon head-butted, punched, kicked and strangled his partner during the attack in Warrington earlier this year.
The woman said Saxon, 50, later told her he would kill her after he got out of jail.

Henry Riding, prosecuting, said Saxon and the victim got into a relationship in April 2021. The court heard that it was later characterised by both drinking heavily and Saxon taking Class A drugs.
Mr Riding said that on January 23 this year Saxon then launched into an assault on the woman at a house on Plumtre Avenue and that this then continued in his house on Yardley Avenue. He said this assault saw him subject her to a range of violence including grabbing her round the neck so hard she couldn’t breath, putting his fingers in her eye sockets and head-butting her.

Man suffers 'potentially life changing' injuries as car and cyclist crash
A man has suffered potentially "life changing" injuries following a crash between a car and a cyclist.
Merseyside Police rushed to Onslow Road, Kensington, at around 8.05pm on Thursday, July 28, following reports of a crash between a Vauxhall and a cyclist. Once officers arrived a cordon was put in place and drivers were urged to avoid the area.
The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with head injuries which Merseyside Police described as "potentially life changing". The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Road closures are in place on Prescot Road and Onslow Road as emergency services deal with the incident.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."

Chilling CCTV of Rueben Murphy moments after cold-blooded killing
Extensive CCTV footage, crucial forensic evidence and their own stupidity helped put a pair of killer gun thugs behind bars after a young dad was gunned down in cold-blood.
Patrick Boyle, 26, was shot dead in Newway, Huyton, on July 1 last year. Police quickly established Mr Boyle had been chatting with two friends when a man carrying a pistol and wearing a mask pulled up on an electric bike and shot him twice in the chest from close range.
The killer, self-confessed drug dealer Rueben Murphy, also 26, claimed that when Mr Boyle was gunned down he was in a back garden in another part of Huyton, "off me head on ket". Murphy denied knowing or shooting Mr Boyle and insisted: "I might have sold drugs in the past, but I'm not a killer."

Murphy's close friend Ben Doyle helped plan the attack and rode to "within minutes" of the scene on the electric bike, with Murphy a pillion passenger. Doyle, 24, claimed the murder was committed by a mystery man, who he refused to name because he feared "retribution" and wasn't a "snitch".
Their feeble stories fell apart in the face of overwhelming evidence - some of which was almost handed to Merseyside Police detectives on a plate.
As the investigation progressed it emerged Murphy had a seemingly minor run-in with two men in Lyme Grove, Huyton, where Doyle lived. He told the jury he saw Frazer Brown, an associate of Mr Boyle, in that street at around 12.40pm.
