As of now, the Chicago Bulls are in a state of flux. Arturas Karnisovas seems intent on keeping the core together and running it back, but the current roster isn’t good enough to compete for a title. They may not even get to the postseason. Big changes are needed.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Washington Wizards and Bradley Beal will work together to find a trade for the All-Star guard if the team decides to rebuild. Teams like the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics could make sense for the star, but could the Bulls get involved?
A trade centered around Tyler Herro makes a ton of sense, but the Bulls could actually put together a solid package – without giving up any of their stars. And honestly, it might be the best one out there.
Chicago could offer Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, Coby White (signed and traded), and two future first-round picks for Beal.
That would leave them with Beal, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan, and they would almost certainly look to bring back Nikola Vucevic, too. They would still have Alex Caruso, Andre Drummond, and Ayo Dosunmu as depth but would need to nail free agency.
The Bulls’ potential starting lineup could look like Caruso, Beal, LaVine, DeRozan, and Vucevic.
For the Wizards, rather than trading for Herro, they would add a two-way threat in Williams, who has a ton of potential, and White, who played super well toward the end of last season.
Washington would also take a chance on Ball, who is currently dealing with a brutal string of injury luck.
However, the picks would be the sell for Washington. The selections would be in 2028 and 2030, and at that point, there’s a chance the Bulls are toward the bottom of the conference.
Obviously, that makes this deal extremely risky for the Bulls, and it doesn’t seem like something they would go all-in on, considering the make-up of their current core.
But if they wanted to, Chicago could make a juicy offer for Beal.
