For the second-straight season, the Chicago Bulls have been hit with a serious case of the injury bug.
Lonzo Ball has yet to return to the floor following suffering a small meniscus tear last January and Javonte Green, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in January, has no timetable for his return, per Bulls PR.
“We’ve been kind of at the same thing where I think the linear, straight-ahead running has been pretty good,” Billy Donovan said. “But they’ve not been able to progress him yet to any lateral stuff.”
Like Ball, Donovan said that Green has experienced discomfort in his knee when attempting to cut or make any lateral movements. For Ball, he’s been ruled out for the season as the there’s been lingering pain and discomfort following the two surgeries.
“He’ll receive treatment and continue to do the same stuff they’ve been doing until they can try to progress him,” Donovan said of Green.
The Bulls will provide an update on Green’s status in two weeks.
