As things stand, the Chicago Bulls don’t have a pick in this year’s draft. They owe their first-round pick to the Orlando Magic via the Nikola Vucevic trade they made in 2021, and their second-rounder was stripped after the NBA concluded that they broke tampering rules when negotiating with Lonzo Ball.
That said, the Bulls are still active in the draft process. According to Cody Westerlund of 670 The Score, the Bulls brought in Alabama forward Brandon Miller for a workout. The 20-year-old is projected to be a top pick in this year’s draft. Naturally, this news raised the eyebrows of Bulls fans everywhere.
In all likelihood, the Bulls are simply doing their due diligence. They want to get a look at every prospect in the draft. However, there’s always a chance they make a move to trade up. And if they do, Bulls fans should be aware of Miller’s past.

In February, Miller was involved in an incident that led to a fatal shooting. He delivered the gun to his teammate, Darius Miles, that was used in the incident.

Alabama freshman basketball standout Brandon Miller brought a teammate the handgun that was used to kill a woman last month, according to police in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Tuscaloosa detective Branden Culpepper testified Tuesday that Miller brought Darius Miles’ gun to him on the night of the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris, after Miles texted him and asked him to do so.

Miller was never charged with a crime nor suspended by Alabama for the incident. When AL.com asked Tuscaloosa police about the lack of charges, deputy D.A. Paula Whitley said there was nothing within the parameters of the law that he could be charged with.
“That’s not a question I can answer. There’s nothing we could charge him with,” Whitley said.
The 20-year-old will enter the 2023 NBA Draft mocked as a top-three pick.
