The Chicago Bulls are off to a 6-9 start to their season, losing three-straight games and five of their last six games, including Wednesday night’s 124-110 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
ESPN’s NBA experts update their NBA Power Rankings every week, which landed the Bulls at No. 23 for Week 5, falling seven spots from last week’s rankings.
Jamal Collier explains:
The Bulls have lost four out of their past five contests. On one hand, they can take solace in the fact that they’ve played the second-toughest schedule in the NBA this season; on the other hand, their offense is struggling, ranking 22nd in points per 100 possessions.
Collier is right — the Bulls have had a pretty tough schedule to start the season, but the amount of slow starts and a mediocre offense tied to a middle of the pack defense doesn’t make for a very competitive basketball team.
If the Bulls record continues to take a dip, it may be time to hit the trade market and reassess the current roster makeup.
