New Cardiff City signing Tommy Doyle has vowed to bring a "winning mentality" to the Bluebirds after signing on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder joined on Thursday evening and comes from good footballing stock. His grandparents - Glyn Pardoe and Mike Doyle - are genuine Man City legends, while the player himself captained his club to the Premier League 2 title last season.
Doyle hopes that will stand him in good stead during his loan stint with the Bluebirds. He certainly sees this as a learning opportunity, but his confidence belies his age and he believes he can bring a winning edge which has been lacking for the Bluebirds.
"For a young lad like me, it's good to get experience," Doyle told the club's website.
"In the Championship you get a lot of young lads my age coming to the Championship to challenge themselves.
"It's exciting for me and I'm looking forward to it. I want to learn. A lot of these lads have played a lot of games, whether it be in the Championship, Premier League or other leagues.
"It gives me experience at playing at this level and hopefully I can add some goals and assists, and a winning mentality to the team.
"I'm just trying to push myself as much as I can and hopefully the team will push me to keep improving."

Doyle joins a team whose primary objective is to get away from the bottom three as quickly as possible in the coming weeks and months.
The youngster expressed his delight at being at the club but also understands the importance of the immediate task at hand.
"I'm very happy. It's a very big club and I'm happy to be here," he added.
"I've had a few good days of training and I'm looking forward to the weekend now.
"Every game now is important. I've met all the lads and they've been brilliant with me. Hopefully all the stuff we've been working on now, we can put into the game on the weekend.
"It's exciting. it's a good step for me in my development.
"I'm just looking forward to the challenges ahead. Hopefully we can get some wins and jump up the table."
Manager Steve Morison was also chuffed to get this deal over the line. ( You can read about how they captured his signature here. )
And when it comes to what Bluebirds fans can expect from the player, Morison said they are about to see an "excellent" footballer don their club's shirt over the coming months.
Morison said: "He can bring quality. He’s got really good pedigree. He’s really good at set plays, which is a strength of ours.
"He is an excellent footballer, Man City don’t produce bad players and he has been around a heck of a lot of good players.
"You can see after a few days' training, he's definitely got quality to his game.
"He’s never played in the Championship so it’s one we are hopeful he can step up to the level and add something to our team."
