Manoj Tibrewal Aakash dominates the Google

New Delhi: Senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief, Dynamite News Manoj Tibrewal Aakash is nowadays stealing the headlines in the print, broadcast and all platforms of social media including Google. 

Manoj Tibrewal Aakash is incessantly being searched on Google for the landmark judgement by the Supreme Court on November 6 on the petition by Aakash against the illegal demolition by bulldozer of his ancestral house in Maharajganj in September 2019.

Landmark verdict 
The Apex Court, in its historic verdict, slammed the UP authorities for demolition of Senior journalist Manoj Tibrewal Aakash ancestral house and ordered the UP Govt to pay Rs 25 lakh as compensation to Aakash. 

The Top Court also directed the Chief Secretary to initiate criminal and departmental action against all errant officials within a month.

The Supreme Court has also directed the Chief Secretaries across the country that wherever bulldozer action takes place, today's order must be strictly followed. No house can be demolished arbitrarily in the country.

Three-judge bench
A three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, held that the demolition was 'high handed' and 'lawlessness'.

The bench, also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, remarked, "How can you just enter someone's home and demolish it without following the course of law or serving notice?"

Strong reprimand by Supreme Court 
In a historic judgement, the Supreme Court issued a strong reprimand to the UP Govt officials. The Supreme Court stated that demolishing someone’s house without notice or without giving them time, merely by making a public announcement, reflects the authoritarianism of the government and the officials. Wherever this occurs, it cannot be considered the rule of law.

The Apex Court had taken a suo motu cognizance of a letter-petition by Manoj Tibrewal Aakash.
