The criminal trial of three Bulgarian spies living in Britain shed an unprecedented light on how Russian intelligence services are now operating in the UK and Europe.

The three defendants were found guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday of being part of a conspiracy to spy on behalf of Moscow.
