Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has revealed that Mesut Ozil is the teammate that impressed him the most when he graduated from the academy into the first team.
Saka has enjoyed an extremely productive 2022/23 campaign, netting 11 goals and providing a further nine assists in 26 Premier League outings. Now, the 21-year-old has heaped praise on former teammate Ozil, admitting that the German playmaker's natural ability left him in awe at times.
When asked by Football Focus who impressed him the most when he arrived in the first team, Saka said: "I think I would probably say Mesut Ozil. He plays in his own world.

"Some of the things he does and you look at him, just wow." Ozil's contract with Arsenal was eventually mutually terminated back in January 2021 after manager Mikel Arteta decided not to name the mercurial midfielder in his squad for the Premier League or Europa League that season.
But when he was at his best, Ozil was a joy to watch for the Gunners, netting 44 goals and providing a further 79 assists across 254 games for the club, as per Transfermarkt. The 34-year-old also collected four FA Cup medals during his time in north London, helping end the club's nine-year trophy drought during his debut campaign back in 2014.
