Building materials supplier Southern Sheeting has opened a new distribution depot and customer service centre just outside Loughborough – its third in the UK. The new hub, which will be branded as Southern Sheeting Midlands, opened on May 30, in the Wymeswold Business Quarter, between the rural villages of Burton on the Wolds and Wymeswold.
Tony Hobbs, managing director of Southern Sheeting Midlands, said: “We are a family business with more than 40 years of experience built on unrivalled stockholding, industry leading quote turnaround times, product knowledge and first name service.
“We can’t wait to integrate ourselves into the local community and start working with local tradespeople and homeowners.”
“Southern Sheeting is enjoying a period of growth, making this the ideal time to enhance our geographical reach.
“We can now accept orders from customers anywhere in England, then supply what they need when they need it, without compromising our level of care and expertise.
“Loughborough, with its central location in the Midlands, vibrant business economy and strong transport links forms the cornerstone of our expansion plans.”
Southern Sheeting has two other UK sites, both in East Grinstead, West Sussex, and has big plans for growth. It has already taken a number of new employees from the local area and plans to recruit more, creating career opportunities and boosting the local economy. Its outlets are open tradespeople and home DIYers.
Its product range includes steel and fibre cement roof sheets, insulated panels, weatherboard cladding, composite decking, rooflight solutions, guttering, fencing, building boards and garden room kits, plus screws and fixings. The company stocks brands such as Trex, James Hardie and Cedral.
