Jeremy Hunt, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, will deliver his Spring Budget today in front of the House of Commons.
Mr Hunt is expected to announce big changes to the welfare system, with parents on Universal Credit able to access childcare upfront and further support for household energy bills.
There will be many people following the Budget for the first time as they seek to understand the effects on their finances. For those who are new, the Chancellor and the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, will join other top ministers for a Cabinet meeting this morning to discuss the Budget plans.
Mr Sunak will then attend the weekly Prime Minister’s Questions in the House Of Commons before Mr Hunt delivers his budget. Here is what you need to know about when and where to watch.

When will the Budget be delivered?
Mr Hunt is set to deliver his Spring Budget straight after Prime Minister’s Questions. It is expected that this will be at around 12:30pm.

What is Jeremy Hunt expected to announce?
As well as a childcare boost for parents on Universal Credit and energy bill support, it is expected that Jeremy Hunt will address fuel duty and getting more people into work. There are whispers of an increase in the state pension age for those born in the 70s and the details of a post-Brexit alcohol levy introduced by Rishi Sunak in 2021 will be confirmed.
