One of the bigger surprises during the first three weeks of the 2024-25 NBA season has been the struggles of the Milwaukee Bucks. Widely projected to be a playoff team in the East, Doc Rivers’ team hobbled out to a 1-6 start, and found themselves tied for last place in the conference coming into Thursday’s action.
Bucks Snap 6-Games Losing Streak, Defeat Jazz 123-100
But they were able to snap their 6-game losing streak during the night’s slate of games, though it took playing against one of the league’s worst teams in order to make it happen. The Utah Jazz entered their game against the Bucks with an identical 1-6 record, though their struggles don’t come as much of a surprise.

It wasn’t looking good for Milwaukee early on. The game was close throughout the first two quarters, and the Bucks were down by 4 at halftime. But their two stars showed up in the third frame, as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard led an effort that saw them outscore the Jazz 31-16.
They did more pulling away in the fourth quarter. Finally sensing the light at the end of the tunnel that they’ve been in, Milwaukee kept its foot on the gas and wound up winning by a score of 123-100. Antetokounmpo scored 31 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while Lillard contributed 34 and 7 assists.
Milwaukee Has Plenty Of Time To Climb Out Of Hole
The Bucks snap the losing streak and improve their record to 2-6, passing the 2-7 Raptors in the standings. They’ll have a tough couple of games over the weekend, with games against the Knicks and Celtics looming on the schedule, but they’ll have a chance to pick up some wins next week. The following three games are against the Raptors, Pistons, and Hornets, who currently have a combined record of 8-18.
The season is young, and Milwaukee’s comeback efforts will be aided by an Eastern Conference that has been lackluster thus far. The top two teams in the standings have a combined record of 16-2, but a 4-4 record is good enough to be in third place at the moment. Winning 5 out of 7 games would put the Bucks right back in the mix, and we are still a ways away from December even starting.
