Buckeye Nation reacts to Ohio State receiver Kamryn Babb’s big moment

If you’re a loyal Ohio State football fan, we don’t have to recount the story of wide receiver Kamryn Babb. However, if you aren’t, here’s the CliffsNotes version.

Babb is a fifth-year senior who has never been able to get on the field to contribute because of an almost unfair number of injuries.

The four-star prospect and top-100 recruit out of Saint Louis underwent four ACL tears and subsequent rehabs. Despite never recording a catch, he has done nothing but encourage the team and grind through the adversity simply for a shot at getting on the field.

He means so much to the team he was voted a team captain two straight years. He was even given the honor of wearing the “Block 0 jersey,” signifying toughness, accountability and the highest character. It’s a tradition that honors former Ohio State legend Bill Willis, who broke the color barrier in the NFL.

On Saturday, Babb had his moment. Honestly, it might be the most encouraging and inspirational thing I’ve seen while following and covering the team. Not only did Babb record his first catch in an OSU uniform, but he also did it by finding the end zone for OSU’s last score against Indiana.

After the touchdown reception, utter chaos ensued, but not in a bad way. The entire team has been pulling for Babb and seemingly everyone from the coaches, players, and support personnel joined in the celebration.

We’ve got some of the best Twitter reactions and celebrations from Babb’s big moment, and it really is a testament to the family atmosphere of what this Ohio State program is.
