LIV Golf star Bubba Watson has called on the Saudi-backed circuit to 'shake hands and hug it out' with the PGA Tour amid the ongoing dispute between the two circuits.
Since LIV's inception last summer, the Saudi-funded series has faced strong opposition from the powers that be at the PGA Tour. A number of the American-based circuit's biggest names made the controversial Saudi switch, and were thus banned by PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.
Things have since turned ugly, with the two rivalling tours now battling it out in a court of law, in a tarnished 12 months for the professional game.
There has been somewhat of a ceasefire this week, as 18 LIV stars made a return to the PGA Tour to compete at The Masters Tournament at Augusta National. One man who was part of the returning cohort is two-time champion Watson.
The 44-year-old was one of the six LIV members attending the Champions Dinner on Tuesday, where relations were reportedly mutual despite the differences of opinion around the table. The game of golf seems to be much closer to the end of its division rather than beginning, and Watson has urged the dispute to end sooner rather than later.
Speaking about a potential truce after missing the Masters cut on Saturday, the two-time green jacket winner said: "It's got to happen at some point. Now when is the question. You can only go for so long.
"Somebody is going to have to take a step back and try to figure it out... Once that all gets settled and we kind of shake hands and hug it out, then yes, that could be talked about."

When the dusts settles around Augusta Watson and co will make their return to LIV Golf in two weeks time, when the breakaway circuit heads to Australia for the very first time in Adelaide. One man who is looking forward to the trip down under is Range Goats skipper Watson, tipping a much more welcoming reception than the defectors have received elsewhere.
"It should be a wild crowd. It's definitely going to be the biggest ruckus we have," Watson said. "Nobody's bad-mouthing us down there, so looking forward it. Outside of the US, we've had nothing but love. It's been amazing."
