BT Murrayfield share important information ahead of Beyoncé gig this weekend

The magical day is nearly upon the people of Edinburgh, as Beyoncé prepares to take to the stage at BT Murrayfield stadium on Saturday, May 20.

The Queen Bee will be performing at the largest stadium in Scotland this weekend, as fans from across the country will be heading to the capital to join in on the fun.

However, those prepared concert-goers among us will be already organising their plans ahead of the gig at night - with door times and travel arrangements being sorted during the working week.

Fortunately, BT Murrayfield have come to the rescue for Beyoncé fans, and have released a whole host of information regarding the gig on Saturday night.

Read on below for information on arriving early, bag policies and items that are prohibited from the stadium.

When can I arrive to the Beyoncé gig, and when do doors open?

Organisers at BT Murrayfield stadium have confirmed that doors will officially open at 4:30pm for Beyoncé, with the West Fan Village open to fans at 3:30pm.

They have advised: "Head to BT Murrayfield early for the safety and comfort of all and allow plenty of time for security searches.

"Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy something to eat and drink at the pre-show bars, and catering available in the West Fan Village."

What is the bag policy for BT Murrayfield?

BT Murrayfield have confirmed that only bags of an A4 size or under (30cm by 21cm) will be permitted into the stadium.

Exemptions do apply for medical or childcare purposes, but all bags will be searched prior to entry. There are no bag drop facilities at the stadium.

Prohibited items at BT Murrayfield stadium

The following items will not be permitted to the stadium, subject to stated exceptions:

  • Weapons of any kind or anything that could be considered a weapon
  • Alcohol of any kind
  • Glass bottles and drinks cans
  • Sealed/unsealed plastic drink bottles
  • Hip flasks, metal drinks bottles, thermos flasks or refillable water bottles
  • Umbrellas of any size
  • Air horns, party poppers or silly string

  • Laser pointers or flashlights
  • Fireworks/ pyrotechnics or flares
  • Audio or recording equipment
  • Go Pros/active cameras and selfie sticks
  • Professional cameras (with lenses larger than 4inches)
  • Controlled or illegal substances
  • Items deemed to be inappropriate or offensive – including clothing, flags and banners
  • Musical instruments
  • Animals other than guide or assistance dogs
  • Any other items deemed to pose a risk of injury or annoyance to other customers

Any person whose conduct is deemed to be offensive or abusive, or who may compromise public safety, will be reported to the police.
