A brush fire was reported just north of the Palisades in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. The Los Angeles Fire Department Chief revealed that the call about the fire came in at around 10:30 a.m. local time. The fire occurred under challenging conditions, with relative humidity at 12% and winds reaching speeds of approximately 25 mph, gusting up to 50 mph.
Due to the severe weather conditions, responding units dispatched additional resources to combat the brush fire. Initially estimated at 10 acres, the fire has rapidly spread and now covers more than 1,200 acres. The National Weather Service in Los Angeles has confirmed that high winds in the area are exacerbating the situation.
Prior to a news conference addressing the fire, strong winds caused damage by ripping a sign off the front of the podium. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and working diligently to contain the fire amidst the challenging weather conditions.
