Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has paid to tribute to club legend Alan Shearer after scoring a stunning chip against Norwich City.
The Brazilian midfielder, signed from Lyon in January, got his third goal in as many games to seal the Magpies' fourth straight win in the Premier League on Saturday.
Guimaraes scored the third and final goal of the 3-0 win when intercepting a stray pass from ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul before baring down on goal and dinking the ball over Krul’s head.
That goal prompted a reaction of much joy from former Newcastle striker and manager and England captain Shearer, who also holds the record for the most goals scored in Premier League history.
“Oh my word Brunnoooo,” Shearer tweeted, followed by six emojis of clapping hands. Delighted by the praise he got from Newcastle’s all-time top scorer, Guimaraes replied to thank Shearer, but also pay tribute to the former England ace.
"I watched your DVD boss," replied Guimaraes, a tweet which ended with emojis of black and white hearts and a Brazil flag. Shearer then replied in the conversation with an inspirational message to the ex-Lyon man, who has started life in England brilliantly.
“You’re making it look easy man. Keep up the great work,” Shearer added, followed by black and white circles and a praying emoji.Since his arrival from Lyon, Guimaraes has played in each of the Magpies’ last 13 Premier League matches, starting seven and coming off the bench in the other six.

Newcastle now sit ninth in the table following their recent upturn in form, clear of the relegation zone by 14 points and two points clear of Brighton and Hove Albion in 11 th .
The Magpies do have a tough run between now and the end of the season, with only four matches left in their schedule. Their next three are against title chasers Liverpool and Manchester City and Champions League hopefuls Arsenal.
Howe’s side face a trip to Turf Moor on the final day of the Premier League season to take on relegation-threatened Burnley.
