Bruno Guimaraes celebrates at Newcastle restaurant after making Brazil World Cup squad

Bruno Guimaraes headed to a Newcastle restaurant on Monday night, to celebrate the news he'd made the Brazil squad for the World Cup.

Since making a big money move to NUFC at the start of the year, midfielder Bruno has established himself as a massive favourite among the Geordie faithful. Go to St James' Park on any match day and you'll see many Toon tops adorned with Bruno G on the back and now the man himself is preparing to pull on a Brazilian shirt in Qatar, after finding out he's made the cut for the World Cup, a day after he scored in the Magpies emphatic away win over Southampton.

The big news arrived on Monday afternoon and Bruno and Ana, who recently welcomed their first child together, baby son Matteo, were both quick to share their excitement at his call-up on Instagram, posting images of him in the famous yellow, green and blue colours on their Insta stories.

And they were surrounded by yellow, green and blue just a few hours later when they, very aptly, headed to Rio Brazilian Steakhouse in Jesmond to celebrate the news. The Osborne Road haunt has become a big favourite of the couple since they made the switch to Newcastle and staff went all out to make sure they had a night to remember, as they were surrounded by friends and family.

Little Matteo joined parents Bruno and An for the celebratory meal, with Ana posting a picture of them in front of a yellow and green balloon arch. Next to it, she penned a lengthy caption in Portugese, which, went translated to English, read: "Celebrating this achievement that we dreamed of together! My love, only those who know you know the size of your heart, your effort, how much today was asked for in prayer and thank God, it was granted to us!!"

She added: "You are strong, you are kind, you are talented and you are the pride of our family! Go there, win the world and come back here with that medal on your chest! We love you more than anything!"

Writing in the thread underneath Ana's post, Bruno commented: "Grateful to have you by my side! What a day, what a year and what a moment... forever together."
