Newcastle United supporters were pleased to see their side record a routine win against 1860 Munich n Austria. Second-half goals from Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Bruno Guimaraes earned the Magpies a comfortably victory at the Saalfeldenarena Burgerau.
Supporters got a first glimpse of new boys Nick Pope and Sven Botman, with the latter involved in the build-up to the second goal. The game had a typical pre-season vibe to it - especially in the first hallf - with Newcastle happy to dominate possession.
A win against a German third-tier outfit is hardly going to set the world alight but fans still noted several key positives to take away from the game. Newcastle face a far sterner test next Monday against Mainz, who finished eighth in the Bundesliga last season.

This is how supporters reacted on social media at the final whistle. There was plenty of priase for the second-half performance but some fans are still concerned about the "lack of depth" up front.
@LordLinton: Has any opposition player ever actually got the ball off Joelinton
@DrMarcFoster: Perfect pre-season game. Players increasingly confident. Passing smoother and more assured as the match went on.
@tom_oddy98: Botman looked really sharp tbh
@Axcrazy1: Need 3-4 more bodies in the lack of depth is worrying.
@Jack_Rogers97: We really need some attackers that first half performance was lifting
@agbnufc_: The transformation once Bruno, Joelinton and Botman were on was clear. Promising and silky.
@AaronDa51254689: Built into the game well, really good second half. Joelinton looks like he hasn’t had a day off training, machine and Bruno G is simply ridiculous. Nice to see Sean get a goal aswell.
@Sandancer1977: A good fitness exercise. Canny workout. I would imagine those who got the last 30 mins will start on Monday, and the lads who started today will get the last 30 minutes.
@LaneHusband1: A very good second-half. Much improved. More fluidity, snapping at heels, intensity, pressing, quick, sharp passing and clinical when needed. A contrast to the first-half but again it was only the second game back. Onto Mainz on Monday!
