Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford headline the latest Manchester United FIFA 22 squad update, with the duo receiving major downgrades.
Bruno Fernandes grabbed a brace in United 's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend as he looked to re-find his top form, but it was only the second and third goals the midfielder had scored since the 4-1 win over Newcastle in September. Marcus Rashford has also been under scrutiny from the United fanbase in recent weeks, with the 24-year-old having grabbed just two goals in 11 Premier League games this season.
Currently sat seventh in the Premier League, the underwhelming individual performances from a selection of the United squad hasn't gone unnoticed by EA Sports - with a handful of players being handed downgrades to their overall ratings in FIFA 22.
The latest FIFA 22 squad update was released on January 13, 2022, with fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea also receiving changes to their ratings based on their seasons so far.
The squad update is available to download now on all platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
So, how have the downgrades affected the United squad in FIFA 22? Let's take a look.
Bruno Fernandes
Due to a drop in form from Fernandes over the past few weeks, the Portuguese midfielder has seen his overall rating decreased from 88 to 87, whilst his potential rating also decreased by one overall from 89 to 88.
As well as his overall rating, EA deducted the rating of Fernandes' in-game stats, with his short passing downgrading from 91 to 90, and his long shots from 89 to 88.
Marcus Rashford
Like Fernandes, Rashford saw his overall rating decrease in the latest squad update, with the winger dropping from 85 to 84 overall due to a lack of goals since his return from injury in October, 2021.
The 24-year-old also saw his potential rating take a hit and drop from 89 to 88, and along with his rating, Rashford received downgrades to six of his in-game stats.
Rashford saw a decrease in his crossing (80-79), finishing (83-82), short passing (80-78), stamina (86-84), vision (81-79) and his composure (80-79).
Harry Maguire
For the second time in FIFA 22, Harry Maguire has received a downgrade to his overall rating, with the defender dropping from 83 to 82 overall and his potential rating from 84 to 83 - making his current rating two lower than what started the game with.
The United captain lost the leadership trait in the last update, and this time around he lost his tactician trait along with a downgrade to eight of his in-game stats.
Maguire saw a decrease in his long passing (82-81), ball control (76-75), reactions (84-81), jumping (88-87), stamina (82-80), interceptions (86-85), standing tackle (84-82) and composure (83-82).
Interestingly, the centre-back saw one in-game stat increase, with his shot power seeing an upgrade from 75 to 80.
Eric Bailly
Along with Maguire, EA have judged fellow defender Eric Bailly worthy of a downgrade based on his season so far, with his overall rating dropping from 79 to 78 overall and his potential dropping from 80 to 79.
Along with his overall, the defender saw a change to his in-game stats, with his sprint speed (79-77), reactions (76-75), jumping (84-83), standing tackle (80-79) and sliding tackle (81-80) all decreasing.
There were a couple of minimal stat changes to other players in the United squad, with Raphael Varane receiving a hit on his stamina (74), Mason Greenwood's strength decreased (63), Anthony Martial saw downgrades to his ball control (85), stamina (67), long shots (75) and his vision (75), whilst Luke Shaw's attacking work-rate changed from high to medium.
