Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming has really stepped up since the action movie star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. In addition to continuing to help care for her husband, raise their two young daughters and keep fans updated on his condition, she’s also become an advocate for caregivers and dementia research. What I didn’t know about Heming is that she was engaged to someone else when she first met the Die Hard star — and she recalled how her mother called her out.
Emma Heming married Bruce Willis in 2009, more than a decade before his health forced the actor to retire in 2022. Speaking on Hoda Kotb’s Making Space podcast, Heming recalled meeting Willis at the gym, “like most people in Hollywood do,” and apparently he made a strong impression on her pretty quickly.
